There are so many issues facing the Church in North America. Islam, Roman Catholicism, and the cults are all resurgent. Within the Evangelical movement a saucy retread of the old liberalism called " The Emergent Church " has appeared, seeing as its duty the repackaging of heresies of the past in the name of a sullen ( generally foul mouthed) relevance.

These movements are real and they are seriously gaining in strength. Visit the Catholic Church's websites, or Islam's, or any of the Cults. The triumphalism on these sites is astounding.
For them, they see blood in the water. They see the evangelical church fragmenting and losing doctrinal coherence. They see the loss of confidence in the suffiencey of scripture and know that this "Crisis of Authority" has done half the job for them.
But don't worry! The bright lights of the evangelical movement have a plan. Christian Yoga, contemplative prayer and any other pseudospiritual garbage that we can steal and repackage for the consumption of the benighted Christian consumer.
If that doesn't work don't worry the Southern Baptists will demonstrate real priorities by keeping their largely unregenerate church membership ( so long as they don't get drunk). I guess since hell is a liqour free zone they want their unsaved church memebers to get used to it.
Or if that doesn't bring revival the Caner Brothers and Dave Hunt will get a fraticidal war going between Calvinist and Arminian Evangelicals, and if that's still not enough the Amillenialists are doing their level best to get one going with the Dispensationalists.
We have become fools fighting in a burning house while the enemy circles around outside waiting to pick off the survivors.
If it weren't a fullfillment of prophecy, it would be enough to make one sick. ( I Tim 4; 2Tim 3; 2 Thes 2).
As for a real scriptual revival of repentance, faith in our sovereign, triune, heavenly Father and sincere open hearted study of His word, we'll have little of that. It's easier to plow the sand.
